The clouds hurtle despicably overhead.  The sense of [depressing adjective] [depressing noun] is [intensifier] [depressing adjective]."

A well of infinite sadness is a transparent enterable container.  It is here and fixed in place. "A well of infinite sadness is here. [if something is in the well] The well contains [a list of things in the well].[end if]".  It has the description "The well of infinite sadness is [intensifier] [depressing adjective].  It seems to lead infinitely downward into the depths of a great [depressing emptiness]."

Understand "well" as the well of infinite sadness.

The hopelessness is a proper-named emotional thing.  "Hopelessness makes its [depressing adjective] presence known, plain for you to see and [depressing adverb] understand."  It is here.

The ennui is a proper-named emotional thing.  "A powerful ennui confronts you, knowing and [depressing adverb] controlling your inner [depressing self]." It is here.

The dejection is a proper-named emotional thing.  It is here.  It has a number called the hint level.  The dejection has hint level 0.

The clouds are here and proper-named scenery.  The sky is here and scenery.  "A general sense of [depressing noun] comes from looking at the sky."

A cigarette lighter is a portable thing.  "A plastic green cigarette lighter is on the ground at your feet."

The description of yourself is "As [depressing adjective] as ever.".



Part 3- Dejection Actions

Instead of taking dejection:
	say "It is impossible to take the dejection, because dejection is an abstract emotion and cannot be picked up. 	increase the hint level of the dejection by 1;
	if the hint level of the dejection is greater than 2:
		say "You wonder if there is a way to carry the dejection without physically touching the dejection.".	

Instead of touching the dejection:
	if the player is holding the dejection:
		say "But you already seem to be feeling the dejection, even as we speak.";
	otherwise if dejection is in the room:
		say "As you [intensifier] feel the dejection, it moves into your [depressing self], and you possess the dejection [intensifier].";
		move dejection to the player;
		increase the score by one;
	otherwise:
		say "You reach into the well in which you've previously placed the dejection, lose your balance, and plunge into the well.";
		end the story saying "You have unintentionally drowned in the well of infinite sadness".
		
After examining the dejection:
	increase the hint level of the dejection by 1;
	if the hint level of the dejection is greater than 3:
		say "It seems impossible to experience the [depressing noun] of the dejection without feeling it for yourself.".
		
		
Part 4 - Actions On Other Things

After taking something, say "As you take the [noun], you feel a sense of [depressing adjective] [depressing noun] in your [depressing self]."

After dropping something, say "You drop the [noun], but [depressing adverb] acknowledge the folly of doing so, since the world is truly replete with [noun]." 

Instead of going nowhere, say "You consider going [noun] but upon considering that everywhere is [intensifier] the same as everywhere else, you [depressing adverb] fail to motivate yourself to go [noun]."

After inserting something into the well:

	if the score is 4 and the player does not have the lighter:
		move lighter to Near the Top;
		say "As you place the [noun] into the well, you notice a little flash of something green and plastic at your feet.  It is unclear why you have not noticed the lighter at your feet before.  There is no apparent causality between placing three abstract emotions into a well followed by suddenly noticing a small green plastic lighter at your feet.  Generically there is no logical necessity of causes; non-determinism is an inescapable fact of your [depressing self].  The sudden and poorly explained appearance of the lighter merely furthers the [depressing adjective] plot of what merely seems to be a [intensifier] [depressing adjective] game.".	
		
Instead of touching the lighter:
	try taking the lighter.
	
Instead of taking the lighter:
	say "As you take the lighter, you feel lighter.  Gee, maybe your [depressing self] isn't so [depressing adjective] after all.";
	if glulx sound is supported:
		play the sound of happy piano;
	end the story saying "You don't feel all that bad after all".
	
Before taking something:
	if the noun is in the well and the noun is not dejection:
		decrease the score by 1.
		
Instead of going down:
	try entering the well.

Instead of entering the well:
	say "You decide to end your [depressing adjective] [depressing self] by throwing yourself into the 
well of infinite sadness. This is very understandable, given the [depressing noun] that invades your [depressing self].";
	end the story saying "You have drowned in the well of infinite sadness".
